The day opened cloudy, but spirits remained bright at the 15th Annual Art in the Park festival on Saturday, presented by the Newport Beach Arts Foundation.
More than 100 artists and artisans set up their booths, displaying and selling their artworks. Hundreds of visitors braved the rain and enjoyed the day, looking at and purchasing paintings, jewelry, photography, textiles, ceramics, glass art, wood craft, and all manner of artistic works.
High school students representing the National Charity League and the National League of Young Men along with an army of Newport Beach Arts Foundation members were on hand to assist the vendors and assure a good day.
The Bungalow Restaurant in Corona del Mar was on site to provide lunch for sale and people happily munched away on pulled pork sliders and chicken wraps. Music was provided by local entertainer Jim Roberts.
The Chuck Jones Center for Creativity offered the opportunity for the public, both children and adults, to sit and create artworks of their own.
Proceeds from the event will help to provide support for school tours, acquisition of significant works of art for the City, as well as arts and cultural programming in Newport Beach.
