Foundation at Work

Newport Beach Foundation Members have been involved with these Public Art projects:

Sculpture Garden, Civic Center Park
The 14-acre, ocean-view site was designed by renowned landscape architect Peter Walker and completed in 2013. The current and third rotating exhibition of public art in the Civic Center Park is presented by the City Arts Commission. Each phase is exhibited for a two year period.

SPHERE 112 – Purchased 2016 by the Newport Beach Arts Foundation (NBAF), Sphere 112 was chosen by residents as the favorite piece during the Inaugural Sculpture Exhibition in September 2014. Its popularity compelled the Foundation to buy it. It was officially dedicated February 14, 2017.

McFadden Square Centennial Legacy Project, Newport Pier, 72 McFadden Place
The McFadden Square Centennial Legacy Project was unveiled in a special ceremony on Monday, July 21, 2008, to commemorate the City's 100 years of history. The Foundation was a donor for this project.

Dawn to Dusk in the Estuary, Environmental Nature Center, 1601 - 16th Street
This butterfly sculpture was created as part of the Butterfly Initiative Project in 2005 by artists Kathleen Harrison and Arlene Cartozian, a member of the Newport Beach Arts Foundation.

Marine 1/1 Memorial, Castaways Park, 700 Dover Drive
In 2003 the citizens of Newport Beach adopted the First Battallion First Marines, First Marine Division.  In 2008, this memorial sculpture was "created in honor of the men and women of the 1/1 who paid the ultimate price in defending our nation and our freedom." It stands overlooking the Back Bay and Newport Harbor in Castaways Park.  The Foundation was a donor for this project.
